I had hoped that our last message, a rather more upbeat one than this one, would have been an appropriate note to close the year out on, but ALAS not! Please think about this column when you go out to buy the meat you will eat this Christmas and how its production may have affected our magnificent leopards and other predators, and contributed to instances like this.
The 24th leopard (since November 2002 that we know of) in our region recently died in a gin trap. This incident has been one of our worst to date.
